About Us

Scholarship

All National Capital Consortium Family Medicine residents are required to participate in scholarly activity during their residency. Residents must complete two scholarly activities, at least one of which should be a quality improvement project, in order to graduate from the residency program.

To be recognized as scholarship, an activity must be shared with peers (in writing or in person) and subject to peer review. Peers are defined as similar in level of experience and education as the individual conducting the scholarly work. Residents may share their work at a local, state, regional, or national level for it to be recognized as scholarship.

The program has been extremely successful at producing quality scholarship. The program was recognized by the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians for Outstanding Achievement in Scholarly Activity in both 2015 and 2016.
