Women's Health
The Women’s Health Clinic is part of the OB-GYN department at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, with some of the best board-certified obstetricians/gynecologists, urogynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, and certified nurse midwives in the capital region. Our goal is to support every need that comes with being a woman.
Our clinic will support women in every stage of life through well-woman exams, which include screening for cervical cancer. We also provide support for gynecologic issues such as fibroids, pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding, pregnancies, reproductive and fertility services, and later-in-life issues such as pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and menopausal concerns. We are committed to a patient- and family-centered approach to care that is collaborative and actively engages the patient and family as essential members of the healthcare team.
OB-GYN includes the following divisions:
- Contraceptive Care from the Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Walk-In Clinic provides contraception services to all TRICARE beneficiaries.
- Gynecology provides well-woman exams and care for any gynecologic needs, such as pap smear and STI screening, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and fibroids.
- Obstetrics includes prenatal care during pregnancy, Labor and Delivery, and finally the Mother Baby Unit, where mother and newborn receive care after birth.
- Urogynecology provides care for urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain.
For the convenience of our patients, women's health does offer some injections in the clinic. Please check with your provider or a clinic staff member for more information. Injections are offered from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday–Wednesday, and Fridays. On Thursdays, the injections are offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. The clinic is closed during the afternoon on the third Thursday of each month, so injections will not be available during the afternoon hours on that day each month.
