Allergy

The Allergy clinic provides allergy immunotherapy to patients who have already been seen and evaluated by an Allergist. An established treatment plan is required to be able to receive allergy shots at DPHC.

Who’s eligible?
- • Active Duty Military
- • Retired Military
- • Activated Reservists
- • Dependent spouses of Active Duty/Retired Military
- • Active Duty dependents 18 years and older
- • Must have Pentagon access
Who’s not eligible?
- • DoD Civilians that are not DEERS eligible
- • Contractors with no military affiliation
- • Children under 18 years old
How does it work?
- • Eligible personnel are referred by their primary care provider to an allergist who will evaluate them and determine whether they are candidates for immunotherapy (allergy shots).
- • Treatment is initiated at the allergist’s location, usually a military treatment facility (MTF).
- • If desired, immunotherapy treatment can then be transferred to DPHC where treatment will be continued and administered by trained and skilled clinic staff.
NOTE: All allergy patients must wait 30 minutes in the clinic after receiving their allergy shots to monitor for any adverse reactions.

We do not provide referrals to the allergist. Referrals are only submitted by the Primary Care provider. We do not have an in-house allergist. Allergy testing and initial evaluations are only available at a Military Treatment Facility. The nearest MTF’s include: A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and Malcolm Grove Medical Clinic at Andrews Air Force Base.

Immunization

The immunizations clinic prides itself in providing excellent care in support of medical readiness for personnel assigned to the Pentagon. Our clinic provides immunization screening for annual PHA’s, routine vaccinations, and tuberculosis risk screenings. Immunizations are provided for routine readiness, injury/disease exposure, and travel healthcare.

- • Contractors with no military affiliation
- • Children under 18 years of age
NOTE: We recommend all patients wait 15 minutes in the clinic after receiving vaccinations to monitor for any adverse reactions.

Travel Medicine

Those who will be travelling overseas need to see a medical provider in order to receive country specific vaccinations. Once a provider has seen you, you are welcome to receive your vaccinations in our clinic during normal hours of operation.
