Weekly COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Updates

Date: 1/31/2022

MODERNA has arrived at FBCH!!!

We are now offering Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to beneficiaries over 18, Contract employees, and GS employees. Active duty Service Members may also receive Moderna or Pfizer.

Beginning February 1, 2022, The Belvoir Hospital is offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to:

  • Service Members (including Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard) and TRICARE beneficiary’s ages 5 to 11.
  • Pfizer vaccine is also offered to beneficiaries 12-17 for first and second doses only (not booster dose).

For beneficiaries ages 12-17 years, we ask that you temporarily obtain the COVID-19 booster vaccine through the civilian network. COVID-19 vaccines are available at Walgreen’s pharmacies and we encourage beneficiaries to visit their local health department websites to obtain information on additional no cost participating providers.

NOTE: WRNMMC and FBCH will continue providing the Pfizer vaccine to the following groups

  • DoD Service Members (Active Duty, Reserves, and National Guard)
  • Beneficiaries ages 5 to 11 years old
  • Beneficiaries ages 12 to 17 years old for first and second dose
For beneficiaries that are ineligible for Pfizer at FBCH, but would prefer to receive Pfizer, you can walk into the clinic at 2:30 to be on standby for extra doses. ***There is no guarantee for extra doses***

Key Points

  1. Moderna has arrived. Beneficiaries over 18 can now make an appointment to receive their vaccine.
  2. Beneficiaries ages 12-17 can receive their primary series (first and second dose) at FBCH. Booster doses for 12-17 year olds can be obtained through our network partners (Walgreens or your local grocery store). Contact your local community health departments for participating locations and more information.
  3. All beneficiaries who are due for a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine during this time, but do not currently have an appointment, may also come to the clinic on a walk-in basis.
  4. All beneficiaries ineligible for Pfizer, who wish to receive Pfizer (non-active duty 18+, 12-17 years old booster), can walk in at 2:30 to be on standby for extra doses. There is no guarantee for extra doses.

COVID-19 Vaccine continues to be available in the National Capital Region; however, temporary adjustments may be experienced over the next few weeks as the production of the legacy Pfizer vaccine stopped in December of 2021. DOD’s current supply of the legacy Pfizer vaccine in circulation is all that is available, and precautions are being taken to reserve this product for the primary series for Service Members.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary shift may cause. As always, we appreciate your flexibility and we look forward to taking care of you and your family as we navigate through this period together. Vaccination remains the safest strategy for preventing future COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations, long-term effects and fatalities. Please continue to visit our social media sites and TRICARE Online for up to date information.
