Key Points to Remember:
- There is NO association between this case and any activities of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs on Fort Belvoir.
- We encourage everyone to check their vaccination status for measles (MMR) and ensure all immunizations are up to date.
Potential Exposure Details:
- Date: January 9, 2026

- Times: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. and midnight
What You Should Do:
- Verify your measles vaccination status. If you’ve had two doses of the MMR vaccine or were born before 1957, you’re considered protected.
- Verify your child’s vaccination status. Look for “MMR” or measles in their immunization records.
- If you suspect exposure, please contact your healthcare provider for advice.
We understand that information regarding measles can raise concerns, but we want to reassure you that the general public's risk remains low due to high vaccination rates in Virginia.
