Service members, veterans and their families are located worldwide, often traveling great distances for specialized medical care. The Fort Belvoir Fisher House, donated and constructed by the Fisher House Foundation and other donors, offers them an open door to a home away from home while receiving care at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
The Fisher House is a 10,000 square-foot home with 12 private guest suites. The common areas and guest suites are professionally designed and beautifully furnished. The Fisher House includes various common areas including a kitchen and spacious dining room, a family and living room, and a large laundry facility with multiple washers and dryers. Most importantly, the Fisher House includes staff and volunteers to support our active service members, Veterans and their families.
Fort Belvoir Community Hospital works as one with the Fisher House at Fort Belvoir. The hospital staff recognizes families as important members of the health care team, and shares the belief that a family’s love is good medicine. While the Fisher House gives families a home away from home, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital offers them world-class care in a unique healing environment, designed specifically to promote positive outcomes while supporting and encouraging family involvement.
The Fisher House is located within walking distance of the hospital, across Belvoir Road, and next to Fort Belvoir's Pence Gate.
