ATAMMC Conducts Mass Casualty Exercise:
September 26, 2024

Date: 9/25/2024

Alexander T. Augusta Military Medial Center (ATAMMC) will conduct a Readiness Mass Casualty Full-Scale Exercise Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

This Full-Scale Exercise is in conjunction with the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Belvoir, and exercises such as these are vital to strengthen the relationship and readiness between ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir Garrison, and the community.

Please be aware that there will be multiple training venues on Fort Belvoir, and you may experience delays at the gates, some exercise traffic control points on the roads, rapid movement of emergency vehicles, and you may see role player casualties with Hollywood quality make-up. This is all an effort to add realism for the Hospital and our mission partners being trained and/or evaluated.

In an effort to train our entire staff, ATAMMC will not be offering routine appointments from 8:00 a.m. until noon, however the Emergency Department and Emergency Services will be open and operating as normal, and all pre-scheduled appointments will be honored. Surgical appointments should not be impacted, but please consult your surgical team for any questions or concerns.

We ask that you plan your visit to ATAMMC accordingly. We appreciate your patience and assistance as we strive to improve our emergency readiness for Fort Belvoir and our Military Community.
