The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

ATAMMC Operating Status for January 8, 2025

The Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC) and its outlying health centers at Dumfries and Fairfax are OPEN (WITH THE OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR TELEWORK) Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in accordance with OPM weather guidelines.

All scheduled in-person routine and acute appointments will continue on schedule unless otherwise announced.

If your appointment is to take place Wednesday, January 8th and you would like to verify it is still scheduled, please contact the appropriate clinic.

All Tele-Health appointments will continue as scheduled unless you are contacted by the clinic to reschedule.

All surgical procedures (to include Endoscopies) remain on schedule and will start on time. However, patients can contact the ambulatory procedure unit at 571-231-4185 after 6:00 a.m. to notify staff of a delay in arrival.

Emergency Room services remain open.

Tulley Gate is scheduled to be the only gate open for installation main campus access, and remains open 24 hours daily.

Non-emergency employees have the OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR TELEWORK if authorized for those with an approved agreement.

Military and civilian staff members who are unsure of their reporting status, have questions about the operating status of their department, or who may have difficulty getting to work due to unsafe conditions must contact their immediate supervisor.

As a reminder, on Thursday, January 9th, the ATAMMC will observe the National Day of Mourning for President Jimmy Carter, during which limited services will be available.
