Fort Belvoir Gate Access Update, August 14, 2024

All DoD ID Cardholders can now sponsor visitors on the installation. This is a change from the previous requirement to live and work on the installation. Sponsored passes are valid for up to one year and can be renewed.
WHO CAN SPONSOR?
- DoD Family Members, 18 and over
- DoD Common Access Card holders
- Military Retiree ID Card holders
- Veterans Health Identification Card holders
WHO CANNOT SPONSOR?
- Contractors (including those with a CAC card with the green stripe)
- DoD Family Members, ages 17 and below
HOW TO APPLY FOR A PASS:
- Visit the Visitor Control Center (VCC) at Tulley Gate, 9500 Pohick Rd, Fort Belvoir VA 22060.
- Complete the Sponsorship Form provided by the VCC.
- Submit the form along with valid identification for both the sponsor and the visitor.
- Visitors must have a Real ID Act compliant state-issued driver's license or identification card. IDs marked, “Not for Federal Identification, Not for Federal Purposes, or Federal Limits May Apply” or similar wording will require a secondary ID to access Fort Belvoir.
- Visitors must pass a background check as part of the application process.
