Intrepid Spirit Center (Brain Injury Medicine Service)

As part of the Defense Intrepid Network, the Intrepid Spirit Center (ISC) improves the brain health, wellbeing, quality of life, and readiness of our Service Members and their families. The ISC treats patients with a history of or suspected traumatic brain injury (TBI) with subsequent current symptoms that impact functioning or quality of life. This outpatient facility serves all TRICARE beneficiaries with priority given to active duty Service Members.

Each patient is individually evaluated by a medical provider. If indicated, the patient will then collaborate with the provider to create their own inter-disciplinary treatment plan. The team uses a wide variety of techniques to address complex needs, optimize clinical outcomes, and improve the patient's quality of life.

Treatment plans are rooted in the ISC’s 6 pillars of wellbeing:

  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Physical movement
  • Pain management
  • Resiliency
  • Connectedness
