Akorn Pharmacy Voluntary Recall Notice, June 20, 2023
Date: 6/23/2023
You may have been recently informed by an Express Scripts letter or by an AudioCare message that Akorn Pharmaceuticals issued a voluntary recall of certain products.
Akorn Operating Company LLC filed for bankruptcy and ceased their quality monitoring program, which means the company will no longer be able to support or guarantee that all of their products will meet the intended specifications through the labeled shelf life, or expiration dates. The impacted products were distributed to healthcare facilities and pharmacies across the United States, and upon recommendation of the FDA, we are following removal guidelines.
While there have been no reports of adverse events related to the recalled products, we take the safety and well-being of our beneficiaries very seriously. We have removed all Akorn products from our shelves.
If you were informed by Express Scripts letter or AudioCare that you may have received a product made by Akorn, you can look at this list at the following link to determine the specific medication:

Only products listed in the link are affected by the recall.
If you are impacted by the recall and they have refills remaining on your prescription, you can request a refill from the ATAMMC pharmacy by using the refill phone line (1-800-377-1723). If you do not have refills remaining, you will need to contact their Primary Care Manager for a new prescription. For extenuating circumstances, you may also contact the pharmacy at 571-231-3224, option 2, option 2.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our beneficiaries.
