Fort Belvoir
Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, known as NMRTC Fort Belvoir, was officially established on March 18, 2022, and is located within the confines of the Fort Belvoir Army Base.
NMRTC Fort Belvoir has a threefold mission: to optimize the medical readiness of warfighters, ensuring they are fully prepared to meet operational requirements; to enhance the readiness of our medical personnel, ensuring they are well-prepared and trained for their vital roles; and to sustain and develop expeditionary medical capabilities, ensuring we are well-equipped to meet the demands of diverse operational environments.
Our command is billeted for a diverse team of 400 Navy personnel, including nurses, doctors, hospital corpsmen, medical service corps personnel, and enlisted Sailors from various rates, each contributing their unique expertise. Additionally, NMRTC Fort Belvoir operates as a joint service platform, providing crucial primary care force development and force generation capabilities. We proudly offer direct care support to the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, extending our services to benefit the health and well-being of approximately 95,000 National Capital Region beneficiaries.
