Welcome to the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), formerly Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Emergency Department. In an emergency, we know you want the receive the best care possible; we also know that a trip to the emergency department can be stressful.
At our healthcare facility, you can be confident that our staff is dedicated to providing the safe, quality and compassionate care you have come to expect from our hospital. Our team of emergency medicine physicians, medical specialists, highly trained nurses and medical assistants is on duty 24 hours a day, every day to meet your family’s emergent medical needs.
If you have any questions about your treatment or any aspect of your visit, please talk directly with your healthcare provider or nurse. We want you to understand as much as possible about your medical condition and what we are doing to take care of you.

Emergency Care
If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical situation (including mental health emergencies), call 911 immediately or visit ATAMMC if it's your nearest hospital. Emergency care services treat life-threatening medical issues such as threats to your life, limbs, sight, or safety.

If you use a Civilian Emergency Room
Urgent Care
Urgent Care services treat non-life-threatening health issues that require immediate attention, such as sprains, the flu, colds, and other common illnesses.
